Rokycany: Hotels and Accommodation

Rokycany is home to the Muzeum na demarkační linii, the largest non-state military museum in the Czech Republic.

Culture

The Dr. Bohuslav Horák Museum in Rokycany specializes in history, ethnography, paleontology and natural sciences. Its tour route features six permanent exhibitions. The museum also includes the Centre of Paleobiodiversity, which collects significant fossils from the younger and older Paleozoic.

Rokycany has an urban conservation area. Masaryk Square is home to the Marian Column, a Baroque monument dating from 1725. The Church of Our Lady of the Snows is a significant Gothic landmark in Rokycany.

Sky and Trails

The Rokycany Observatory is located on Osecký vrch on the northern outskirts of Rokycany. It has a telescope with a primary mirror diameter of 508 millimetres. The observatory's instruments can be used to observe the Moon, planets, double stars, star clusters, galaxies and nebulae at night, as well as the Sun during the day.

The Stations of the Cross on Kalvárie feature artistic stone stations and an artificial Holy Sepulchre. Kalvárie is also home to a pseudo-Romanesque chapel in the form of a rotunda.

Kotel Lookout Tower south of Rokycany can be reached from the town via a blue-marked hiking trail.

Nature

The Rokycanská stráň Nature Monument protects fossil sites of the Klabava and Šárka formations of the Czech Ordovician. In 2023, Husovy sady in Rokycany received a renovated network of paths, new footbridges, a viewpoint overlooking the town and new benches.

Koupaliště Rokycany is a bathing resort during the summer season, suitable for family outings, relaxation and water fun.
