Culture and History

Třemošná is home to the birthplace of the important Czech painter Václav Brožík. He was born on 5 March 1851 in Hamr, in house no. 57 in Třemošná. A four-sided chapel stands in the village square; it was built between 1853 and 1855 and consecrated on 14 June 1857. The railway bridge over the Třemošenka is also part of the town’s history: it was commissioned on 1 May 1872 and built by the Italian master builder Pietro Righini.

The Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral church is also located in the vicinity of Třemošná. In the wider regional area are the Svatý Martin church and the U Svatého Petra church.

The 54th Třemošenská padesátka is scheduled for Saturday, 3 October 2026. The start and finish are at the KČT clubhouse in the TJ Tatran Třemošná complex; the event includes routes for hikers and cyclists.
