Rosa Coeli was originally the oldest convent for women in Moravia. The Premonstratensian Order founded Rosa Coeli in 1181 not far from the center of Dolní Kounice.
Culture and history
The Dolní Kounice Synagogue was built between 1652 and 1655 in the Early Baroque style and is one of the oldest synagogues in Moravia. Guided tours with commentary of the synagogue begin on the hour during the monument's opening hours.
The Jewish cemetery in Dolní Kounice was established in 1680. It contains approximately 1,500 irregularly arranged gravestones.
Dolní Kounice Castle and Chateau were originally built to protect the monastery. Guided tours with commentary are available.
Sightseeing
In 2019, an audio guide was introduced for visitors to Rosa Coeli. It enabled them to tour the monastery at their own pace using a mobile phone and headphones.

The Chapel of Saint Anthony offers a beautiful view of the entire town and the surrounding area.
The 4 km paved cycling path from Ivančice to Dolní Kounice follows the Jihlava River through a picturesque landscape and is intended exclusively for cyclists and pedestrians.
