Landscape and Location

Měnín lies in the Dyjsko-svratecký úval landscape and at the confluence of the Litava and Říčka (Zlatý potok) waterways.

Culture and History

On the main road through Měnín stands a sculpture group depicting the Holy Trinity, as well as Cyril and Methodius, dating from 1897.

The Church of Saint Margaret is a parish church where services are regularly held. Since 1958, it has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. A reconciliation cross stands next to the church.

A historical connection with nearby Brno is evident in the Měnínská brána: the gate is named after the former city district around Měnínská Street.

Wine and Events

Měnín is considered a wine-growing locality in the Velkopavlovická wine-growing region. Every year, the local wine-growing association organizes the traditional Výstava vín in Měnín. The traditional Markétské hody takes place at the beginning of the summer holidays.

Culture and Local Life

The cinema in Měnín offers a programme of film screenings, travel talks, theatre performances, and concerts. The Měnín sports club complex includes a grass football pitch.
