Lovečkovice: Hotels and accommodations

In Lovečkovice, railway history, marked trails, and historic buildings come together. The Lovečkovice Mini-Museum and the Uhelná Trail combine local history with tangible traces in the landscape and townscape.

Culture

The Lovečkovice Mini-Museum was established in a former railway station building that was saved from demolition and renovated by the municipality of Lovečkovice together with the Zubrnická Museum Railway. The Mini-Museum houses an exhibition of the Zubrnická Museum Railway; visitors can ride a historic rail trolley on the grounds.

The local railway line Velké Březno–Lovečkovice–Verneřice/Úštěk is part of the railway history; it was ceremonially put into operation on August 18, 1890. The Velké Březno–Zubrnice–Lovečkovice section was registered as an immovable cultural monument in 1998.

Architectural heritage is also represented by several preserved buildings. Cottage No. 17 is a traditional log building bearing the year 1818 and is listed as an immovable cultural monument in Lovečkovice. The complex of House No. 74, including the house, stables, and plot, is protected as a cultural monument. House No. e. 46 is a valuable and authentically preserved example of a two-storey log house from the first half of the 19th century. A passage barn made of smoothly plastered brickwork with pillars is a valuable example of traditional architecture.

Trails and landscape

The Uhelná Trail starts at the Lovečkovice Mini-Museum, is almost 4.5 kilometres long, and is marked with yellow tourist signs. It has eight stations providing information about local history and coal mining.

The extensive České středohoří Protected Landscape Area is located within the municipality of Lovečkovice. Several marked hiking trails lead from Lovečkovice to Sedlo; its summit area is protected as a national nature reserve and features rare flora.

Above the municipality of Náčkovice stands Víťova vyhlídka, built in 2003 and 21 metres high, at an elevation of 616 metres. Its viewing platform is 8.5 metres above the ground. From there, the view extends towards Teplice, Ústí nad Labem, Roudnice, Štětí, Mělník, and Doksy, as well as as far as Ještěd.
