Očihov: Hotels and Accommodations

At the eastern edge of Očihov stands the branch church of St. Martin on the left bank of the Blšanka. The church has been protected as a cultural monument since 1964. Its narrower polygonal presbytery is connected to the irregularly rectangular nave. A prismatic tower with a northern stairway annex is located in the western gable section of the nave.

Culture and History

On the village square in Očihov stands an originally Baroque chapel in the form of a two-story prism, which was rebuilt into its current form in 1900. Archaeological evidence of prehistoric and early medieval settlement has been found in the built-up area of Očihov and its immediate surroundings. The Martinské posvícení was celebrated in Očihov on November 9, 2013, and was scheduled for November 16, 2024.

Nature

The Blšanka floodplain is an important landscape feature and is accompanied by a belt of tall vegetation. Spring BJ 11 in Očihov is officially recognized as a natural mineral water spring. Mineral water has also been found in three wells in the municipality of Očihov.

Things to Do

Regional cycling route CT 3151 runs through Očihov and Očihovec. Mostly passable field and forest roads are planned for the regional cycling route CT 3151. The 7.2-hectare Očihovská in the Očihov cadastral area belongs to the Blšanka 2 fishing district; fishing is permitted there.
