The Lososí educational trail in Obora was created to support leisure activities and enhances walks along the Ohře through Obora.

Walks

The section of the Lososí educational trail in Obora connects to the Lososí educational trail along the Ohře, which runs through Louny and the municipalities of Vršovice and Černčice. Obora is also included in the cycling tourism app “Na kole i pěšky”. The app records several routes in the area, as well as various points of interest, attractions and monuments.

Events

The traditional “Vodník” Children’s Day celebration in Obora includes performances by swordsmen, a puppet theatre and competitions for children. The celebration has been held for more than 55 years; it initially took place under the name “Pod kaštany” and later in the “Pod Babkami” area on the Ohře. The highlight of the celebration is the arrival of water spirits on the river and the distribution of chocolate coins.

The fifth “Mirvaldova Obora” event was announced for 2 August 2025 in Obora, marking the fifth gathering of artists and art lovers in honour of the important Czech painter Vladislav Mirvald. The planned venues were the multifunctional House No. 26 and the “Pod Babkami” natural area on the Ohře; creative workshops involving painting, drawing, acrylic painting on canvas, mixed media, pencil and pen drawing, as well as the production of prints and bookmarks, were also planned.

Nature

The Loužek area bears the Natura 2000 code CZ0424140. It comprises mixed floodplain forests with English, field and European white elms, as well as common and narrow-leaved ash, along large rivers, and is a habitat of the cinnabar jewel beetle.

The mountains of Oblík, Srdov, Brník and Křižové vršky are located in the vicinity of Obora.

Culture

The ruins of Hazmburk, Hrádek and Hradek Oltářík are located in the vicinity of Obora. The ruins of Pravda are located in the wider regional surroundings of Obora.

The Church of St Catherine in Obora u Loun bears monument register number 43326/5-1110.
