Landscape and history

Pyšná lies in a protected landscape area. The earliest surviving record of the village of Stolczenhain, later Stolzenhan, whose Czech name is Pyšná, dates from 1383. In the same year, Pyšná also belonged to Nový Žeberk Castle.

The mining of iron ore was more profitable in Pyšná's mining history than the extraction of silver ore. In 1835, Josef Gunzel from Pyšná applied for mining claims for silver ores under the protected name “Jeronýmův stříbrný důl”.
