Staré Krecany: Hotels and accommodations
Staré Krecany is home to the parish church of Saint John of Nepomuk, a large Baroque religious building surrounded by a cemetery in the town center. The stone church was built from 1736 to 1741.
Culture
Next to the Church of Saint John of Nepomuk in the town center, the Křížová cesta runs along the surrounding wall of the former cemetery. The chapels and the surrounding wall of the Křížová cesta are protected as cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk has been under the same protection since May 3, 1958. The Křížová cesta is the sixth of fourteen Stations of the Cross in the Šluknovský výběžek.
The historic building stock of Staré Křečany includes several half-timbered houses dating from the 17th and 18th centuries with plank cladding, which are now protected as heritage sites. The vicarage opposite the church is also protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
Brtníky is characterized by log houses on the ground floor and log or half-timbered houses with slate or wooden cladding on the upper floor. The upper floor is supported by a so-called podstávka structure.
Nature
The Mandava rises west of Staré Křečany at an elevation of 460 meters. Its source was restored by the Klub českých turistů.
