Veselé: Hotels and Accommodation

Veselé stretches along both banks of the Bystrá stream. It rises near Nový Oldřichov and flows into the Ploučnice in Benešov nad Ploučnicí.

Nature

Veselka Hill is the distinctive landmark of Veselé and reaches an elevation of 460 metres. The area of Veselé belongs to the CHKO České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. The CHKO Labské pískovce Protected Landscape Area borders Veselé on its northwestern edge. The part of CHKO Labské pískovce belonging to Veselé is home to protected marsh frogs, common toads, water rails and quails.

Cycling

The 2024 updated cycling route plan of the Ústecký kraj lists Veselé on the supra-regional CT 21 (Lužická) cycle route. One cycling tour follows the Soutěskou Olešničky route and then continues by bicycle on an ordinary road to the municipality of Veselé.

Culture and Regional Connections

A hill symbol is included in the coat of arms of Veselé. Mount Dobrná is located in the vicinity of Veselé. The historic site of Hirniskretzschen and the mountains Malý Buk, Netterskoppe and Klič are located around Veselé. In the wider region surrounding Veselé are Hrad Střekov Castle, Hohnstein Castle and the ruins of Starý Berštejn.
