Culture

The Church of St. Elizabeth was built by Gustav Redlich in the Neoclassical style between 1902 and 1904. It was solemnly consecrated on November 6, 1904. Behind the Church of St. Elizabeth, a staircase leads to the crypt of the local nobility and the building's patron, Gustav Redlich. Thus, both the period in which the sacred building was constructed and its connection to its patron are established historical reference points in Věžky.

Věžky Castle was built by the Weissenburkové in the mid-19th century, replacing a Baroque structure. It is a Neoclassical building with a castle chapel. Another cultural stop is located on the road between Věžky and Zlobice: the James E. Hoffman Monument in Věžky can be found there.

An exhibition is also part of the local offering and presents a wide selection of garden products, including flowers, plants and gardening equipment.

History

The history of the buildings and their use continues in the way the exhibitions are presented. In 2013, the exhibitions were moved from the castle to the park. A garden and hobby sales exhibition is held in Věžky Castle Park.

Nature

Věžky Park is also characterized by individual distinctive trees. Among the most prominent trees in Věžky Park is a commemorative tree standing 29 meters tall with a trunk circumference of 650 centimeters.

Šipkovaná ve Věžkách, a local treasure hunt, is another attraction. It was prepared in cooperation with the Municipality of Věžky by the local action group Hříběcí hory. The name, its local connection and the participating organizations all form an equally important part of the character of this offering.
