Discover Svárov: Bell Tower, Cycling Route and Landscape

Svárov lies in the Vizovice Highlands and stretches along a slope, from the Zlámanecký stream to the bare summit of an unnamed ridge. The village reaches an elevation of up to 290 metres. Within a small area, the village, stream, slope and ridge come together – landscape features that give this small village a clearly structured character.

In August 2003, the foundation stone for the Svárov Bell Tower was laid in the village square. The bell tower stands in the centre of the village square; its bell bears the name of Saint Vendelín. The date of construction, central location and name of the bell are therefore among the village’s notable cultural details.

In the lower part of the village there is a prayer site built in 1997 beside the statue of the Virgin Mary. Priest Josef Červenka celebrates his birthday at this prayer site every year. The preserved sacred monuments in Svárov also include six Christian crosses. Another memorial is the monument to the victims of the First World War.

The pond in Svárov serves as a water reservoir and is also used for recreational purposes.
