Vigantice: Hotels and Accommodation

Vigantice is situated in a valley formed by the Hážovka stream. The tower of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Vigantice provides shelter for a summer colony of the critically endangered lesser horseshoe bat.

Nature

Měřístek is a tributary of the Hážovka that is interesting from a natural history perspective. The rare marsh gladiolus grows in some wet meadows in Vigantice; two orchid species also grow in some wet meadows in Vigantice. In summer, the protected corn crake can be heard in several meadows in Vigantice.

Location

Vigantice lies on the road from Rožnov via Hutisko-Solanec onwards to Velké Karlovice.

Trails and Activities

One recommended hike leads from Súš at the Na Suši signpost along a yellow-marked hiking trail to Hutisko-Solanec. Another beautiful route leads via Súš and the Sůlovská cesta along a blue-marked hiking trail to Díly.

The route from Súš to Hutisko-Solanec can also be used for cross-country skiing in winter. Walks and relaxation are possible at “u skály” in Kopcích. By bicycle, you can travel via Súš to Dolní Bečva; this cycling connection can be linked to a cycle path.

Culture and History

The Catholic Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Vigantice was built in the Neo-Gothic style in 1911–1913. Limestone used to be quarried near Vápenky. Fossils of Mesozoic animals were also found near Vápenky.
