Bělov: Hotels, 22 km of Circular Routes and Bělovská Bell Tower

In Bělov, the Stezky Branou do Chřibů trail network comprises 22 km of marked circular routes and connects Otrokovice with Bělov, Nová Dědina and Žlutava. The municipality is therefore part of a clearly named trail network whose connections extend across several municipalities.

Culture and History

The Bělovská bell tower is an indispensable symbol of the municipality of Bělov. The brick structure stands on a hill and was probably built in 1775 by the Kvasice estate. A stone cross stands at the intersection of the Bělov–Kvasice and Bělov–Otrokovice roads, near a cycling accommodation facility. The inscription on the cross reads: “Bělovu odkaz (dar) pudmistra Františka Daňka”; it identifies the cross as a bequest or gift from František Daněk to Bělov. The stone cross was erected in 1847–49 (?) at the instigation of František Daněk from Bělov; the last digit of the year is worn away and illegible.
