The Peștera Oilor archaeological site in Vaideeni has been attributed to the Palaeolithic and Bronze Age periods.

The masonry church “Sfântul Ioan Botezătorul” in the village of Vaideeni dates from 1878.

The Vaideeni ethnographic centre is associated with transhumance and pastoral customs.

Traditional architecture in Vaideeni includes old houses with verandas, typical of the ethnographic region “Oltenia de sub munte”, as well as houses with enclosed courtyards, typical of Mărginimea Sibiului.

Vaideeni’s local craft traditions include the artistic working of leather and wool, as well as the production of musical instruments such as flutes.
