Nemce: Hotels, Hrádok and St Bystrík Church

Nemce lies in the valley of the Nemčiansky potok. Nemce was founded at the end of the 13th century by miners from Banská Bystrica. Hrádok in Nemce dates from the transitional period between the Bronze and Iron Ages. Ceramic fragments from the Late Bronze Age were found on the Hrádok plateau. Ceramics attributed to the Púchov culture were also found there. Thus, both a chronological classification and specific archaeological finds are central to this site.

Culture

The two caves also have their own historical associations with specific periods. A bronze axe was found in Netopierska Cave; it is dated to the Late Bronze Age, specifically the Reinecke HA 2 stage. Netopierska Cave is not open to the public. Archaeological finds from Kaplnka Cave are dated to the first half of the 5th century AD. The named sites therefore differ both in their names and in the periods to which the respective finds are assigned.

Another cultural site is St Bystrík Church. It is the first church in Slovakia dedicated to Saint Bystrík. St Bystrík Church was consecrated on 15 September 2006. It was created by converting an existing building following extensive renovation. The church interior can accommodate approximately 100 people.

Nature

The landscape around Nemce is divided by its local districts. Forests have been preserved in the northern, hilly part of Nemce. Pastures and meadows dominate the southeastern part. This explicitly identifies both forested and open landscape areas in the locality.
