Culture

The archaeological finds in Devičie include a Baroque road. The historic road associated with Devičie includes a preserved section of approximately 300 metres. The evangelical church of Devičie is a Baroque-Classical single-nave building with a segmentally ended presbytery and an attached tower dating from 1785. The tower was added during renovations in 1804. Inside, there is a wooden gallery running around the church and a Rococo altar.

Folk farmhouse No. 23 is a three-room masonry building with a rectangular floor plan dating from 1837 and registered in the ÚZPF. Devičie's historic rural architecture also includes stone three-room houses with stables and barns from the first half of the 19th century. Traditional vineyard cottages are also part of the village's vernacular architecture. A historic bridge has been preserved as a fully intact, single-arch structure made of local volcanic rock.

Wine

The Papillon winery – VÍNO OD FRANCÚZA is located in Devičie and was founded in 2018. Since 2019, Papillon has been a certified organic winery. The vineyards are located in Devičie on a slope with volcanic soil. Since 2018, Papillon has been preparing its land in Devičie for the establishment of vineyards using organic and biodynamic farming methods. The winery was created by converting an old stone house.

There are excavated wine cellars in Devičie for storing wine.

Landscape

The Štiavnické vrchy are the largest volcanic mountain range in the Western Carpathians. Part of the cadastral area of Devičie belongs to the protected zone of the Banská Štiavnica Geopark. It also partly belongs to the Štiavnické vrchy Protected Landscape Area. Swimming in clean water is possible in a former quarry.

The hiking route “Krupina – Vartovka – Uňatín – Devičie” ends in Devičie. The village thus forms the stated endpoint of this connection between Krupina, Vartovka, Uňatín and Devičie.
