Levkuška is located in the southeastern part of the Slovenské rudohorie mountain range. The landscape includes the Levkuška Reservoir, which covers 16 hectares and lies behind the village amid beautiful natural surroundings. Part of a lake shared by the municipalities of Otročok and Rašice is also located within the cadastral area of Levkuška.

Nature and Location

The natural landscape around Levkuška is suitable for hiking tourism. This term refers not only to the area around the reservoir but to the landscape surrounding the village as a whole. The lake itself is specified as covering 16 hectares and lies behind Levkuška. At the same time, the cadastral area indicates a shared connection with a lake: the municipality shares it with Otročok and Rašice. The bodies of water around Levkuška can therefore be understood both through their location behind the village and through their municipal affiliation.

Culture and History

The Evangelical church in Levkuška was built in 1804 on the site of an older church dating from 1739. Inside, there is a Classicist altar from the early 19th century. The furnishings also include a flat painted coffered ceiling and a wooden Protestant gallery supported by carved columns. The building is in good condition and continues to serve its religious purpose.

The history of the population is also connected with local agriculture. The population of Levkuška was mainly engaged in agriculture, and this did not change later either. Together with the church building, its older predecessor and the preserved furnishings, this creates a picture in which the religious history and the village’s agricultural character remain visible side by side.

Fishing and Announced Competitions

Specific designations also apply to fishing around Levkuška. In the regulations governing special permits issued by the Slovak Anglers’ Association, the VN Levkuška body of water is listed as fishing district 3-5310-1-1 under MO Tornaľa. The Levkuška Cup has been announced as a team fishing competition for 2026. In the Levkuška Challenge, caught fish must be immediately returned to the water under the supervision of the referees after being weighed and entered in the catch log.
