History and Culture

The Church of Saint Catherine in Sása was built at the end of the first half of the 13th century as a single-nave, late Romanesque church. It is dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria and stands on Kašteľ Hill in Sása. A fortification consisting of several embankments and ditches, each two metres high and wide, was built around the Catholic church.

The first written record of Sása dates from 1332 and 1337, when the place was mentioned in papal tithe registers. In 1351, Sása was granted town rights corresponding to those of Babiná and Dobrá Niva.

The Evangelical church in Sása is a Neoclassical building constructed between 1894 and 1899. Its hall-like interior has a straight altar wall and a wooden beam ceiling. The church is in very good condition and continues to serve its purpose.

The Memorial House in Sása is the former Roman Catholic parish house. It was built in the Baroque style in the mid-18th century; Andrej Truchlý-Sitniansky worked there.

For a transparent comparison of costs, included services and individual price components should also be considered. Before completing your booking, you should also read the booking and cancellation conditions of the specific offer. Compare these fields directly with one another, especially when the price consists of several components or services are presented differently. Pay attention to the exact wording of the included services and whether conditions are linked to specific booking types. When several offers are displayed side by side, using the same order for comparison helps keep the cost components visible. The entries on the respective offer page remain decisive for the comparison. You can also check how the exact location is specified, which type of accommodation is listed and for what occupancy the offer applies. This also makes it easier to compare included services, possible additional costs and the breakdown of the total price. If several variants are displayed, the same checkpoints remain useful: what matters are the specific details of the respective offer, not a general description. This keeps differences in price components and conditions comprehensible without presuming individual services.
