Thermalpark Dunajská Streda extends over 18 hectares and has four indoor and six outdoor pools. The natural lake at the thermal park offers opportunities for swimming, relaxation and water sports. Thermal water with temperatures of up to 39 °C is used and is attributed with beneficial effects on the musculoskeletal system.

THERMAL CORVINUS Veľký Meder also offers pools with geothermal water ranging from 26 to 38 °C. The complex includes seven pools open year-round and six outdoor pools, as well as a wave pool, a children's pool and a SprayPark.
Culture and technology
The Žitnoostrovský jarmok in Dunajská Streda has been held every September since the tradition was revived in 1980, except in 2020 and 2021. Traditional food and drinks, a crafts street and a wine corridor are offered. The fair has developed into a cultural and gastronomic festival that introduces young people to traditional crafts and includes performances by folk singing and folk dance groups.
The Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Dunajská Streda, originally Gothic, dates from the 14th century. The Yellow Mansion dates from the first half of the 18th century and houses the Žitný ostrov Museum. It features an archaeological and paleontological exhibition, as well as art and ethnographic exhibitions. Vermesova vila presents works of art and hosts cultural events.
The Infocentre in Gabčíkovo offers interactive exhibitions and virtual 3D tours with hologram projections and simulations of the work of a power plant operator. The auditorium of the Gabčíkovo Infocentre offers interactive education about water, energy, the hydroelectric power plant and renewable energy for school groups and the general public. The full tour of the Gabčíkovo hydroelectric power plant lasts 60 to 80 minutes and is offered in Slovak and Hungarian for pupils, students and adults. The Gabčíkovo hydroelectric power plant is one of the area's biggest attractions.
The technical and cultural landmark Vodný mlyn Dunajský Klátov is located on the Klátovské rameno branch of the Malý Dunaj in Dunajský Klátov in Dunajská Streda District. Vodný mlyn Dunajský Klátov houses a permanent exhibition on water milling with original equipment.
Nature and trails
The Číčovské mŕtve rameno National Nature Reserve is one of the most valuable areas in Podunajsko in terms of natural science and landscape. It is the best-preserved oxbow lake of the Danube outside its floodplain.
The Náučný chodník Číčovským mŕtvym ramenom educational trail is accessible seasonally only from 15 July until the end of February. It is a self-guided circular walking trail connected to a blue-marked hiking trail and several marked cycling routes.
The Náučný chodník Od mlyna k mlynu educational trail is a summer, one-way route that must be booked in advance. It is a 10-kilometre guided water route on the Malý Dunaj using motor rafts between the watermill in Tomášikovo and Alba Regia in Jahodná.
More than 75 animal species, subspecies and breeds live in Malkia Park. The park is approximately 5 kilometres from Orechová Potôň railway station; there is no taxi service at the station.
Cycling
The Ship Mills Cycling Route is a 53.5-kilometre circular route starting and ending in Dunajská Streda. It is easy and has only minor changes in elevation.
The cycling route through Žitný ostrov is 73.5 kilometres long and leads from Dunajská Streda via the Gabčíkovo hydroelectric power plant towards Komárno. It runs on an almost flat route along state roads and the Danube embankment.
