Jílovice is a lowland municipality located on two hills at an elevation of 268 meters above sea level.
Location and history
According to historian Josef Pohl-Doberský, Jílovice was founded in the 12th to 13th century. The earliest written mention of Jílovice dates from 1458. After the Orebites' monastery was burned down in 1420, Jílovice initially came into the possession of the Lords of Opočno and later the Trčka family of Lípa.

Traditional events
Floriánská jízda is a traditional inspection and demonstration of firefighting equipment held in the first half of May. Volunteer fire brigades from Přepychy, Bolehošť, Očelice, Ledce, and Jílovice take part in it; Floriánská jízda ends in Jílovice. As part of Floriánská jízda, the fire units were tested there during a firefighting attack.
Children's program
At a witches' gathering in Jílovice, the children's program included tasks involving broom flying, spider hunting, herbal knowledge, and tests of smell and hearing.
