Landscape

Kyje lies on the southeastern slope of Tábor. A geological fault between the Bohemian Massif and the rocks of the foothills of the Giant Mountains runs through the village. The upper part of the village offers a wide view across the landscape.

Culture

Kyje is home to several notable cultural monuments. The crucifix on the village green is listed as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The same applies to farmhouse No. 8 on the southern outskirts of Kyje. The village is also home to a niche chapel dating from the second half of the 18th century. Several log houses feature carved gables; the Zajíc farmstead has a typical gable with the elements used there.

Hiking Trails

The Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise runs through Kyje between Tábor and Železnice. The hiking trail from Kyje to Tábor is marked in red and is also part of the Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise. A yellow-marked hiking trail branches off at the crossroads near the Kyje stop. It bypasses the ascent to the summit of Tábor and follows a contour line.

History

The Kyje railway station on the Sudoměř–Stará Paka line was built in 1906.
