Heřmánkovice: Hotels and accommodations

The Church of All Saints (Kostel Všech svatých) and its grounds are a national cultural monument, an important Baroque building in the Broumovsko region, and a landmark of Heřmánkovice and the surrounding landscape.

Culture and history

The present-day Church of All Saints was built between 1722 and 1726 on the site of a wooden church dating from the 14th century. It is a striking example of High Baroque and Empire styles: the building comprises an elongated octagonal floor plan, a prismatic tower with rounded corners, a narrow presbytery, and a sacristy.

The interior features a ceiling painting depicting a view of the sky. It is complemented by depictions of the four Evangelists and angels in elliptical wreaths. The ceiling painting was created in 1736 by the Broumov painter Johann Hausdorf. In front of the church there is also a Calvary group dating from around 1800. Two reconciliation crosses stand by the cemetery wall in Heřmánkovice.

In the vicinity of Heřmánkovice are Zamek Rogowiec Castle, Ścinawka Górna Castle - Renesansowy dwór, and the Muchołapka monument. In the wider regional area is Grodno Zagórze śl Castle - Zamek muzeum.

Landscape and trails

The surroundings of Heřmánkovice include the mountains Špičák, Supí Hnízdo, and Waligóra. A blue-marked hiking trail passes through Janovičky along the ridge of the Javoří hory mountains to the Janovičky–Gluszyca tourist border crossing.

The Vyhlídkový přejezd Javořích hor cycling route also passes through Janovičky and Heřmánkovice.

Sports in Janovičky

Koupálo Janovičky is a sports complex between Heřmánkovice and Janovičky, located on the site of a former swimming pool. Sled dog races are held annually in Janovičky.

The Janovičky ski resort offers more than one kilometre of technically snow-covered and groomed ski slopes prepared daily. The facilities listed there include ski equipment rental, a ski school, a buffet, toilets, and free parking.

Current notice

As part of the Open Churches 2026 programme, the tours of the Church of All Saints (Kostel Všech svatých) in Heřmánkovice planned for August were cancelled due to the announced start of reconstruction on 1 August 2026.
