Chlistov: Hotels and Accommodation

In ChlĂstov, a church documented since the 14th century, characteristic examples of rural folk architecture, a natural swimming pool, and a protected Jewish cemetery come together. The history of the village and its rural appearance are reflected in several specific buildings and sites.

Culture and History

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in ChlĂstov was first documented in writing in 1360. It was originally a single-nave Gothic church with a rectangular floor plan and a three-sided closed presbytery dating from the 14th century.

Several rural buildings complement this village landscape. The u Mýdlů farmhouse No. 37 is a single-storey Šumava-type house, probably dating from the 18th century, built from large unworked logs. It is an example of traditionally constructed timber folk architecture from the Šumava region.

Farmhouse No. 32 is a two-storey timber-framed house with a side gallery and a projecting gable, as well as an example of 19th-century folk architecture. The rural estate No. 38 is a typical example of 19th-century folk architecture in the local area and comprises a residential building with a cellar, a stable, and a barn.

The Jewish cemetery in ChlĂstov was established in 1869 and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. It can be reached via a field path that continues from the road north of ChlĂstov.

ChlĂstov's natural swimming pool has a dam lined with a row of trees. Fishing is possible in the natural swimming pool. Cycle Route No. 2285 also runs by the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in ChlĂstov.
