Landscape
The terrain around Nevoľné ranges from its lowest point at 504 m in the valley of the Bieľy potok to 950 m on the slopes of Kremnický štít. Over a distance of about one kilometre, the elevation difference is 410 m. Near the municipality of Nevoľné lies Ďurova skala, which consists of andesite cliffs and offers views of Dolná Ves and part of Kremnica.
Peňažná is a landscape formed by volcanic activity. Rock blocks loosened by erosion and rock debris characterise it; the landscape is covered by dense forest. A Stations of the Cross was later erected next to the cross on Peňažná. The path near Peňažná ends at a naturally formed rock temple where Masses are celebrated for pilgrims.
Hiking and Trails
Other marked hiking trails from Nevoľné lead to the Kremnický štós nature reserve. The 23 km-long Kremnica–Trnavá Hora Magistrála also passes through Nevoľné; the Nevoľnícky waterworks, dating from 1940, lies along this route. The hike from Nevoľné to the Jastrabá railway stop takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. In addition, a hiking route from Nevoľné to Ďurova skala is signposted.
The traditional Prechod krajom SNP march takes place every year on the last Saturday in August. During this march, buses take hikers from Nevoľné to Skalka, where a 15 km route and a 20 km route begin.
The blue-marked POHRONSKO – KREMNICKÝ OKRUH cycling route passes through Nevoľné. This loop is suitable for road bikes, trekking bikes and mountain bikes. Buses connect Nevoľné with Kremnica.
History and Culture
Construction of the Nevoľnícky waterworks began on 21 May 1940; water was already flowing into the reservoir on the third day. In connection with the land register of 1487, Nevoľné is named as one of the villages whose first surviving written mention is associated with it.
The church in Nevoľné contains an organ from 1973 with 1,724 pipes. The church in Nevoľné was consecrated on 13 September 1970.
