Culture

The Plague Column is the oldest monument in Čab and a Baroque plague column. It commemorates the 46 people who died in the cholera outbreak of 1773. Today, the Plague Column is protected by the Monuments Board.

The new chapel in Čab was built in 1889 at a crossroads in a romanticising style and is constructed in the Neo-Gothic style. It is dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius, the Slavic missionaries. Historically, Holy Mass was held in the Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius only on feast days and at funerals.

The cultural events of the municipality of Čab include the “Cyrilometodejské oslavy”, celebrations of Cyril and Methodius.

Culinary Experiences

Čabský kotlík is a recurring public goulash-cooking competition in Čab. The third edition took place on 3 September 2022, and the seventh edition on 5 September 2026; both dates were followed by a music programme.

Nature and Landscape

Čab lies on the western slopes of the Nitrianska pahorkatina and on both sides of the Radošinka stream.

The RADOŠINKA Observation Tower stands on a ridge of the Nitrianska pahorkatina historically known as Mraha. Its location is at the meeting point of the cadastral areas of Čab, Nové Sady and Šurianky, at an altitude of 218 m above sea level. From the RADOŠINKA Observation Tower, there are views across the Podunajská pahorkatina and of the Tribeč, Vtáčnik, Strážovské vrchy, Považský Inovec and Malé Karpaty mountain ranges. The view also extends to the old city of Nitra and nearby Topoľčany.
