Nitriansky hrad Castle is a national cultural monument and, together with the Upper Town on the southern slope of Castle Hill, forms an urban monument reserve.

Culture and history
From the 11th to the 14th century, Zobor Monastery served as a religious, public-law and cultural centre. The Slovak Agricultural Museum presents 33 buildings from across Slovakia in its open-air museum, documenting rural life in the lowland areas of southern Slovakia.
The Ponitrianske Museum documents the development of nature and society in the districts of Nitra, Zlaté Moravce and Šaľa through archaeology, ethnology, history, natural sciences and numismatics. The renovated Letohrádek Aldobrandini, also known as the “small manor house”, houses the Mojmírovce Regional Museum. The church in Dražovce stands on a limestone spur above the village and within the remains of a prehistoric rampart.
The Mojmírovce Manor House was built in 1721 in the late Baroque style and remodelled in the Neoclassical style after a fire in 1866. The Nitra Synagogue serves as a concert hall for the city of Nitra. It also houses a permanent exhibition entitled “History and Traditions of the Jews in Nitra”.
Thermal water and experiences
ThermalPark Nitrava in Poľný Kesov offers 10 pools with thermal and fresh water. The park uses naturally occurring, highly mineralised sodium bicarbonate thermal water.
Zobor Mountain offers a dense network of marked hiking trails as well as opportunities for recreational skiing and sledging in winter. Marked hiking trails of the Slovak Tourist Club pass through Zobor Monastery. The Zobor monastery grounds offer interactive elements for children as well as an augmented-reality depiction of a monk’s accommodation.
In addition to educational and religious information, the Diocesan Museum offers visitors an artistic and cultural experience. Nitra’s Calvary is a limestone hill with a viewpoint overlooking the city. Its southern wall serves as a climbing rock and contains the rediscovered Demetera Horvátha limestone cave.
Routes through the region
The marked Cyril and Methodius Route in the Nitra region can be travelled on foot or by bicycle. The Nitra Tourist Information Centre is an information point for the Cyril and Methodius Route in Slovakia.
Mojmírovce Manor House can be reached from Nitra via Ivanka pri Nitre and is 14 km from Nitra. The ruins of the castle of the Forgáč family can be reached from Jelenec, Remitáž district; a hike of around 45 minutes leads there from Kostoľany pod Tribečom via marked trails.
