Nové Sady: Church, History and Landscape along the Radošinka

Nové Sady presents its history through concrete buildings. The Evangelical Church of Toleration was consecrated on 5 October 1786. The surviving masonry tower was built in 1869. During the comprehensive renovation completed in 1962, the original Toleration layout, the spacious chancel and the tower were preserved.

A guided tour of the Múzeum Nové Sady can be arranged during the municipal office's office hours.

On a hill in front of the Catholic cemetery stands a statue of Jesus Christ. It is clearly visible from the centre of Nové Sady.

Nature

Nové Sady stretches along both banks of the Radošinka stream in its middle course. The RADOŠINKA lookout tower stands on a ridge of the Nitrianska pahorkatina, historically known as Mraha, at the meeting point of the cadastral territories of Čab, Nové Sady and Šurianky. The RADOŠINKA lookout tower is accessible by car.

History

The original Gothic Roman Catholic church in Nové Sady already existed between 1520 and 1530 on a hill above the municipality. The cemetery of Nové Sady is now located there.

The manor house in Nové Sady was originally a Renaissance manor house from the early 17th century. It was built on the site of an earlier castle mentioned in 1550.

The Jewish cemetery commemorates the once significant Jewish community of Nové Sady, which fell victim to the Holocaust during the Second World War.

Events
