Chľaba between the Danube, Ipeľ and vineyards
Chľaba lies where the Ipeľ flows into the Danube. The western part of the municipality extends into the Kováčovské vrchy–juh national nature reserve. It was designated in 1966 and covers 364.14 hectares. The reserve is also the northernmost locality of the so-called Pannonian flora.
Nature
The landscape of Chľaba includes the deciduous-forest-covered Kováčovské kopce, their cleared southeastern slopes planted with vines, and a high loess terrace. The Ipeľ and the Danube meet in Chľaba.
Culture
The Roman Catholic Church of sv. Imricha kráľoviča in Chľaba was built in 1769 in the late Baroque style and remodeled after 1800 in the Classicist style. Older wall paintings on the church vaults were restored in 1994.
Wine and crafts
The winemaking tradition in Chľaba is also connected with specific places and collections. A group of six wine cellars was registered as an immovable cultural monument in 2007. Near Chľaba or directly in the municipality, there are also wine cellars approximately 10 meters long with barrel vaults, excavated directly into andesite hills.
The Pivničné múzeum was established in 2005 to preserve a unique presentation of architectural and craft art as well as winemaking traditions. The museum houses valuable objects, equipment, photographs, written documents and other interesting items. Further information or a visit appointment can be requested from PaedDr. Zlatica Tóthová at 0915/319 946.
Trails
The Kováčovské kopce–juh educational trail has six stations as well as an introductory information board in Kamenica nad Hronom. It is self-guided and linear, can be walked in both directions and is open year-round. The information about the stations, introductory board, trail layout and opening hours combines to provide a clearly described route without presupposing additional markings or trail sections.
Independently of this, a blue-marked trail leads through Veľká dolina to Chľaba. Thus, in addition to the educational trail, an explicitly blue-marked connection through Veľká dolina to the municipality is named.
Before booking
It is also advisable to check the included services, individual price components and the applicable booking and cancellation conditions. This makes it possible to compare the offers using the same specific fields before making a booking. For hotel offers, you can also check which type of accommodation is specified, how many people the occupancy applies to and which services are included in the stated price. The exact location, any additional costs and the respective booking and cancellation conditions should also be clearly identifiable on the offer page. Also check which type of board is specified, whether taxes or fees are listed separately and which payment methods apply. It is also important to check whether the occupancy applies to the desired number of people and whether deadlines for changes or cancellations are clearly worded. This keeps the different price components and conditions of the offers directly comparable and makes them easier to assess using the same points to check.
