Tesáre: Hotels, Reservoir and Kokošová Manor House

The Natura 2000 site SKUEV0135 Bočina lies within the cadastral territories of the municipalities of Tesáre and Závada and covers a total of 45.18 hectares.

Nature and protected areas

The protected features of Bočina include willow-poplar-alder floodplain forests and stands of common juniper. Tesársky Park is a 1.96-hectare protected area with protection level 3. The cadastral territory of the municipality of Tesáre also contains the Kyselka mineral groundwater spring, which is also known as “Vajcovka”.

The Vajcovka spring was made accessible in 2014 as part of a project by the Ekopolis Foundation under the “Nestlé pre vodu v krajine” programme, together with the municipality of Tesáre, volunteers from DHZ Tesáre, and the Kroko Velo and Babinec groups.

Water and routes

The Priehrada Tesáre Reservoir is a reservoir on the Zľavský Brook at river kilometre 9.700. It is a category 3 water-management structure and borders the northern edge of Tesáre’s built-up area. An educational trail to the Vajcovka spring runs along the right bank. The reservoir is used for fishing, swimming and water sports. More intensive recreational use requires suitable water-quality values and health safety.

Signposted cycling routes towards the Považský Inovec mountain range pass through the cadastral territory of Tesáre. Thus, alongside its waters, the local landscape also includes a designated cycling connection.

Manor house and historic park

The origins of Kokošová Manor House, also known as Kaštieľ rodiny Lenárt, date back to the 17th century. After 1770, the manor house was remodelled in the Baroque-Classical style. The complex includes a Baroque chapel from 1772 dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk.

The historic park next to Kokošová Manor House is particularly valuable for its landscape design, preserved composition and dendrological composition. The manor house stands southwest of Tesáre on a hill in a park at the edge of the village.

Culture and events

The 19th Tesárske Vinobranie took place on 16 September 2023. The 22nd Tesárske Vinobranie is scheduled for 5 September 2026.
