Pažiť – Hotels and the Bojnický cycling circuit
The Bojnický cycling circuit is a 162-kilometre regional cycling loop that runs through Pažiť and other municipalities in the Partizánske District. The long, blue-marked cycling loop can be completed in full in two days.
Nature
Pažiť borders the Nitra River directly. The Drahožica stream runs along the edge of Pažiť, while the Pažický potok stream flows through the old part of the village. Pažiť was established in the municipal territory of Veľké Uherce on a meadow on the terrace of the Nitra and Mohelnica streams. The southern part of Pažiť consists of forested areas belonging to the Ponitrie Protected Landscape Area.
During the summer months, Pažiť and its surroundings offer opportunities for cycling, hiking, hunting and fishing. Alongside the long regional cycling loop, this means that other seasonal activities in the village and its surroundings are also available.
Getting around
Pažiť has bus stops on both sides of the road. Public bus transport is provided by SAD Prievidza with regional bus services. Pažiť is also located near Road I/64, an east-west connection with access to the D1 motorway.
Culture
Pažiť is home to the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Dominic Savio, built in 1991. Construction of the present church began in 1966, initially as a “House of Mourning”, because the system in place at the time did not authorise the construction of a church. It was consecrated by Monsignor Rudolf Baláž on 23 November 1991.
Pažiť is also the final resting place of the writer Rudolf Uhlár (1904–1934).
History
After 1868, a spacious building was erected on the manorial farmstead to house agricultural machinery and wagons; it was called “MAŠINHAUS”. Pažiť and Uherce were administered by castellans based at Sivý Kameň Castle.
At Hradisko near Pažiť, there are settlement traces from the Early Bronze Age and the Hallstatt period, a cremation burial ground of the Lusatian culture from the Late Bronze Age, and a Celtic-Dacian settlement.
For each offer, visitors can compare the included services, individual price components, and the booking and cancellation conditions. These fields help to compare offers objectively, without inferring a specific property or its facilities from the village profile. Those considering several options can also check whether the displayed total price includes all intended components and which people or periods the conditions apply to. The specific information on the offer page is always decisive. The exact location, accommodation type and stated occupancy can also be checked on the respective offer page. For different travel periods, the respective price components and the applicable booking and cancellation conditions for the selected period should also be considered separately. This keeps the details of the individual offers directly comparable.
