Turčianky: Hotels Between History and Nature

Turčianky combines local history, archaeological traces, landscape and regional routes. The details belong to different historical layers and to the connections that pass through the village; they can therefore be considered separately without reducing the character of Turčianky to a single theme.

Culture and History

The historical record reaches back to the Middle Ages: Turčianky has been documented since 1293 as Nova Villa Turchan. From 1341 to 1430, Turčianky belonged to the monastery in Klíž. The village is also home to the Roman Catholic Neo-Gothic Chapel of Saint Ladislaus, dating from 1863.

Archaeological finds complement these written and architectural indications. In the Na Kostolci district of Turčianky, remains of a Romanesque church with an apse were found. At the site in question, the foundations of a small single-nave church with a semicircular apse were found.

Present-day Turčianky was also home to a settlement of the Lusatian culture from the Late Bronze Age. Thus, the documented local references place both medieval history and significantly older settlement traces side by side.

Nature

The natural-history aspect includes the Holienová (Kolianová) ridge in the cadastral area of Turčianky. It was botanically surveyed in 2005. Because protected and endangered species occur there, the ridge was proposed as a protected area.

Routes

Turčianky has bus services that enable residents to travel to work, attend to everyday obligations and enjoy leisure activities. The timetable lists bus route 305412 as the Partizánske–Bošany/Turčianky–Veľký Klíž–Skýcov connection. No railway network runs through Turčianky.

A marked cycling connection also passes through the village: on the red-marked cycle route no. 019, the route leads to Brodzany; it then continues on a local road through Krásno, Turčianky and Klátova Nová Ves.

If you would like to combine your stay in Turčianky with a hotel or other accommodation, you can view and compare the offers shown. Before booking, check the exact location, type of accommodation and possible occupancy on the respective offer page. The included services, individual price components, and the applicable booking and cancellation conditions should also be taken into account. This review makes differences between offers understandable without inferring the characteristics of an individual property from the local history or landscape. For budget-conscious planning, it remains clear which services are included in the price and which conditions apply to the reservation. When there are several listings, it is also worth checking whether occupancy for your own trip is actually stated in the details of the respective offer and whether additional costs are shown separately. The spelling of the location should also be checked so that the village name and the specific address are not confused with each other.
