Horné Mýto: Nature Reserve, Educational Trail and Baroque Church

The Klátovské rameno National Nature Reserve extends into the cadastral area of Horné Mýto.

Nature

The 306.44-hectare protected area is a representative example of a meandering lowland river with rare aquatic and wetland communities. Protected animal species found there include kingfishers, otters and beavers. Even in the built-up centre, near the Calvary complex, there is a 200-year-old protected pedunculate oak.

Roads and Waterways

Road III/1426 runs through the built-up area of Horné Mýto, from Jahodná in the north to Trhová Hradská in the south. A bridge on the local road crosses the Klátovské rameno 1.4 km west of the centre of Horné Mýto in the direction of Ohrady. The information distinguishes between the route through the built-up area and the individual crossing of the watercourse.

Culture

The Baroque church in Horné Mýto was built in 1775 and remodelled in the Classical style in the 19th century. A memorial plaque on its rear façade commemorates the revolutionary years of 1848–1849. The church grounds also contain a Lourdes grotto dating from 1996.

Several local farmhouses have preserved their original architecture, including houses no. 77, 108/13 and 122/18. Local cultural life also includes the Csemadok women's singing group, which regularly performs at important municipal events. This means that architectural evidence of the past and contemporary community life remain visible side by side in the townscape.

Educational Trail

An educational trail has been established in the cadastral areas of Horné Mýto and Ohrady. It features information panels about the protected fauna and flora of the Klátovské rameno site of European importance. The educational trail includes large information panels and a footbridge over the wetland, offering opportunities to sit, relax or have a refreshment during the walk. The site thus combines explanations of the protected surroundings with a footbridge over the wetland.

If you are viewing or comparing different hotel offers for Horné Mýto, it is worth looking at the fields on each offer page. First check which exact location is named and what type of accommodation is offered. You can then compare the permitted occupancy, included services and individual price components side by side. The stated conditions for booking, changes and cancellation are equally important. Pay attention to whether prices and services are listed separately and whether additional components remain clearly identifiable. This makes it possible to see differences between several offers objectively, without attributing features that are not expressly stated. The comparison therefore remains limited to the published fields: the specific wording, the stated scope and the conditions given in each case are decisive. The order of the fields can also make the comparison clearer.
