Truške: Church, Wine and Trails in Dragonja Nature Park

At Kozji Izziv, families use a story map to learn about local stories, myths and legends and complete a task. The route is 1.5 km long, takes 1.5 hours or longer and follows a local paved road as well as a rocky forest path. The time indication “1.5 hours or longer” does not describe a fixed endpoint. Culture and History

In Truške, visitors can see the cemetery and the chapel beside it. The chapel next to the cemetery bears the inscription “1907” on its crossbeam. The Church of St Cantius also stands in Truške; it was built before 1700, probably around 1550. Its interior is designed in the Baroque style. The exterior is simple; the main façade features a bell gable.

Another historical trace leads to the archaeological site “Križni drev in Mačji hrib”. There are isolated prehistoric, ancient and medieval finds there. The finds also provide evidence of a small early Christian church.

Wine and Landscape

The “Degustacijski prostor” at Truške 1c offers guided wine tastings by prior appointment, introductions to the farm and vineyards, as well as an introduction to organic viticulture. The visit combines the tasting with information about the farm, the vineyards and organic farming practices. Prior registration is expressly a prerequisite for this guided form of the visit and is therefore part of the description of the offering.

The path to the “Hiške slovenske Istre” is suitable for a walk on Saturday or Sunday. The “Toscana Istriana” cycling route also passes through Truške.
