Culture and History
The Koper Regional Museum in the Belgramoni Tacco Palace presents archaeological collections as well as collections covering art and cultural history and modern history. Due to its distinctive structure and buildings, Koper's old town is a valuable urban monument of the wider Mediterranean region.
The Pretorian Palace was built in the 13th century and remodelled in the mid-15th century with elements of Late Gothic, Renaissance and Venetian Gothic architecture. The palace houses the Koper Tourist Information Centre.
Koper's City Tower houses Slovenia's oldest bell, cast in Venice in 1333. The tower is 54 metres high and offers views over the city and its surroundings.

The Parenzana is a 123-kilometre cycling and hiking trail that follows a former narrow-gauge railway from Trieste through Slovenia to Poreč. It runs from Škofije via Dekani and Koper towards Izola and Portorož.
Swimming, pedal boating, kayaking, sailing and diving are possible at Žusterna Beach in Koper.
Giants of Istria begins at the Jakomin Farm in Kubed. Giants of Istria is a family adventure in Kubed with a route of approximately 4,500 metres, an elevation gain of 190 metres and a duration of around three hours. The circular route runs mostly along the mountain trail to Lačna.
