Tuř combines a multifaceted local history with regional ties to the landscape and culture. Albrecht of Wallenstein made Tuř one of the estates in his extensive Frýdlant domain.

History and Culture

The fortress of Tuř was first mentioned in 1542. Tuř Castle was redesigned in the Neoclassical style after 1850. The village also has a Chapel of the Virgin Mary dating from 1836, featuring a relief of the Klatovský Virgin Mary.

The churches of Valdštejn and Lázně are located in the wider regional surroundings of Tuř.

Events in Tuř

Tuř’s Christmas tree lighting includes a St. Nicholas celebration for children. Tea is served to children and mulled wine to adults at the Christmas tree lighting. The local events calendar also includes Tuř’s “Rozloučení s létem,” a neighborhood gathering at the sports field.
