Žíp between River Landscape and Cultural Heritage
Žíp lies in the Rimavská kotlina basin on the left bank of the Blh River. The landscape is predominantly flat, while also being characterized by gently undulating terrain.
Landscape
The location on the Blh and the gently undulating, predominantly flat landscape give Žíp a clear geographical setting. The village lies on the road between Rimavská Seč and Bátka and can be reached from the main road via a short detour. Žíp is also part of the Gothic Route tourist trail.
Culture
To this day, Žíp preserves the characteristic layout of a clustered linear village. Its built heritage includes masonry houses from the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Some of these houses retain column-supported arcades on the courtyard side; the façades feature late Classicist elements. The historic structure is therefore evident not only in individual buildings, but also in the arrangement and preserved building stock of the village.
A central element of the village منظر is the Reformed Church of Žíp. It forms part of an ensemble consisting of the church and bell tower that is listed as a national cultural monument. Next to the church stands the wooden bell tower with a shingle roof, dating from around 1750. Fragments of medieval wall paintings have been preserved inside the Reformed Church on the interior walls of the presbytery and on the triumphal arch.
The listed cultural monuments also include the Neoclassical manor house and park of Žíp, which are jointly listed as a national cultural monument. The manor house is a two-storey rectangular building with two wings. It stands in the middle of a park originally designed as a natural and landscape park. The manor house and the adjacent park are currently in a dilapidated state.
When comparing offers for a stay in Žíp, it is worth looking at the respective offer page. The included meals and services, any possible additional costs, and the deadlines for payment, changes, and cancellation should also be clearly indicated. Depending on the offer, the stated price components and conditions may differ. This keeps the specific terms of different offers objectively comparable. It is also possible to check which type of accommodation is specified, how many people the offer applies to, and which services are actually included in the price. The exact location should likewise be described clearly on the offer page. When reviewing costs, it is useful to consider the total price and individual price components separately. Before booking, the payment deadlines and the conditions for changes and possible cancellation can also be compared. If an offer lists several occupancy options, the number of people relevant to the trip should be matched with the corresponding price component. For additional costs, it should be clear whether they are mandatory or merely optional. An objective comparison should therefore cover the same checkpoints: accommodation type, occupancy, location, included services, price components, and payment, change, and cancellation conditions.
