Kyjatice is located along the tourist route known as the Gothic Route. The Protestant church is particularly notable: it dates from the late 13th or early 14th century. Its fresco decoration was created in two phases: at the end of the 14th century in the presbytery and on the triumphal arch, and in the first half of the 15th century on the northern wall of the nave. Culture

Another cultural highlight is the traditional Kyjatické hračky. They were added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Slovakia on 19 December 2022. Traditional Kyjatické hračky included wooden horses on wheels with carts, wheelbarrows, cradles, cots and various animal figures. In addition, Ladislav Hedvigi makes toys from beech wood using original production methods without metal connecting elements.

History

The place name is also connected with archaeology: the archaeological culture identified above Kyjatice was named after the village of Kyjatice because of the intensity and quantity of the finds. The Kyjatice culture is dated approximately to the period from 1100 to 700 BC.

The Vŕšok Kyjatice educational trail is 1.2 km long and has an elevation difference of 70 m. It can be reached by bus to Kyjatice and then on foot via a local road for 700 m in a northwesterly direction.
