Nová Lehota is located in the Považský Inovec mountains. The SKI Bezovec ski resort is situated in the village. It has four ski lifts and a total of 1.6 kilometres of ski runs. The SKI Bezovec area offers night skiing on 300 metres of illuminated slopes.

Nature and Landscape

Mokvavý prameň is a protected natural monument in Nová Lehota, designated in 1983. The natural monument covers 20,989 m² and is subject to the fourth level of protection. At the same time, Mokvavý prameň is an easily accessible study site and an important landscape-forming element.

The Dubový vŕšok nature reserve lies within the cadastral area of Nová Lehota; it was designated in 1993 and is subject to the fourth level of protection. Dubový vŕšok protects a valuable section of an oligotrophic, acid-soil oak forest on the crystalline bedrock of the Považský Inovec, with typical indicator plants.

Dastínska kyselka is associated with Nová Lehota and is an alkaline mineral spring. Protection levels, area size, forest type and the character of the spring provide different features that allow natural sites to be classified objectively.

Culture, History and the Villagescape

The Evangelical Church of Nová Lehota is a single-nave Neo-Romanesque building dating from 1866. Next to the church stands a wooden bell tower with an open structure and a pyramid-shaped roof. The Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua is a single-nave building dating from 1903. The religious buildings differ in their construction dates, forms and architectural expression, while the bell tower stands beside them as an independent element.

Nová Lehota was first mentioned in written records in 1348 as part of the Tematín estate. A marble war memorial bearing the names of eighteen people who fought and died in the two world wars stands in the village square. In the television series “Horná Dolná”, Nová Lehota appears as the village of Horná Dolná.
