Dubodiel lies at the northeastern foothills of the Považský Inovec and along the upper reaches of the Inovec stream. Dubodiel is home to local history, religious buildings, traditional handicrafts and paths through the countryside.
Culture
The parish church of Dubodiel is dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, the Eucharist. A church in Dubodiel is mentioned in writing in the urbarium of the Trenčín estate from 1623. Behind Dubodiel are the remains of a hillfort with fortifications. Another distinctive sacred building is the Lourdes Chapel, a pseudo-Gothic chapel with Romanesque elements, built in 1904. It is in good condition and continues to serve its religious purpose.
A particularly vivid part of the local cultural heritage is the traditional costume of Dubodiel. It was made from homespun hemp and linen fabric, woollen cloth and sheepskin, and is distinguished by its simplicity and originality. The tradition of the unchanged Dubodiel costume has survived in the village to this day; some older women wear it on holidays. Dubodiel was also known for producing straw mats.
Amateur theatre is also part of the village's history: an amateur theatre was founded in Dubodiel in 1919. After 1923, it regularly staged performances, including at carnival, Easter, the village feast and Christmas. A commemorative plaque for Archie M. Lafond is located on house no. 34 next to the municipal office of Dubodiel.
Nature
The Dubodiel mineral spring, Dubodielska kyselka, offers many visitors tasty and unique mineral water. The spring can be reached from the Trenčianske Jastrabie–Dubodiel road via a dirt track over Zádvorie Hill. It has been enclosed and developed with a concrete structure.
Cycling and hiking
The surroundings of Dubodiel offer various opportunities for cycling on routes around Mount Inovec. A challenging cycling route between Kálnica, Chata pod Inovcom and Dubodiel runs through meadows and forest tracks and offers beautiful views of the Považský Inovec mountain range. The blue cycling route descends along forest tracks above Dubodiel and ends at a junction with the Cyklomagistrála Okolo Inovca.
The ascent from Dubodiel is one of the routes to the summit of Inovec. The paths across Inovec offer opportunities for observing nature and picking mushrooms.
